Reflecting on Latela Curatorial's current status
It's been over a month that I've been traveling thru Europe. I'm seeing some cool new faces so #fridayintroductions ~
Hello, I'm Marta. I'm a #femaleartist, curator & owner of @latelacuratorial. Latela Curatorial is an art consultancy firm that specializes in championing artists, building strong community around the arts & good vibes in interiors thru thoughtful art selection. Check us out! We also have a gallery space in Washington DC that was *just* voted DC's Best Commercial Art Gallery for the 4th year in a row (we are 4 years old btw). I am so proud that the community sees us worthy of this award every year since we opened. Everything I've built has been for the community & I am so honored to have worked with so many talented artists that have exhibited in our space or thru our art sourcing projects over the years. I am also so honored to have created something that allows other women to grow into who they want to be. @meghanmasius @cirossy@hdcriales @leahbeilhart@madlizcreative ~ you are forever appreciated! A huge thank you to everyone who felt Latela worthy of your vote. Sending you light ~
In that ~ good ~ vibration ~ mission, we host a gathering with @eaton.dc every New & Full Moon. This exists for two main reasons: 1) so artists can become more in touch with their spirit/energy, & 2) for community to come together around the arts in a more energy-focused way. These gatherings began in our gallery 4 years ago & have recently grown into a larger space at the @eatonworkshop in DC! We are very proud to partner with them bimonthly AND a podcast that combines arts + healing + meditation will be releasing this summer! Stay tunedddddddd for that!
My own artist practice seems to have opened wide lately as I travel thru Europe lecturing as an Art Historian for @smithsonian... You'll see a lot more "sensual" content. I'm exploring new textiles, relationship to the female body, relationship to feeling & replenished chakras, moments of stillness & avenues of expression.
What's your story? What are you building? Who are the women that keep you moving forward?
